Is Anybody Out There? Lessons Learned in a Small, Rural AEL Program

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Feedback form is now closed.

All AEL programs in Iowa are bound by the same standards and goals, regardless of size, funding, and staff. How do you provide quality instruction and training opportunities to students in rural areas and meet the demands of WIOA? Representatives from several AEL programs will share our experiences with making the changes that WIOA has demanded over the last few years, including program-related, curriculum, and staff changes. We definitely don't claim to have all the answers, but we will raise awareness of the struggles that smaller rural programs face. Participants will discuss ways of collaborating with their college and WIOA partners to meet student and regional needs.   Suggestions for curriculum resources will also be shared.
